2026 Grace Lachina Outstanding Senior Recognition Award

Do you know an outstanding senior 50 or older who has made a contribution to the senior community and/or the Cypress Senior Center? The Cypress Senior Citizens Commission would like to recognize them. Applications are OPEN NOW, November 14, 2025, and must be received by Friday, February 13, 2026 by 5 pm.

Applications are available at the Senior Center, Community Center and down below.

Award Criteria

1. Nominees must be 50 years of age or older, and have made outstanding contributions to the senior community within the City of Cypress and/or the Cypress Senior Center.
2. The nominee’s contribution(s) must be above and beyond the criteria of their normal duties.
3. Selection will be based solely on this application; letters of recommendation are encouraged. The Cypress Senior Citizens Commission shall attempt to recognize a nominee who has donated multiple years of service, time, and efforts largely without recognition.
4. Award selection will be made by members of the Cypress Senior Citizens Commission.
5. Cypress Senior Center staff members, residents of the City of Cypress, non-residents and recreation organizations may submit nominations. Current Cypress Senior Center staff and current Cypress Senior Citizens Commissioners are not eligible for nomination.
